Drivers Will Face New Penalties For Driving Without Insurance

Although the law was passed in 2016, drivers have had a grace period until November 1st, 2017.  But State Troopers will begin enforcing the tougher law now. 

The law provides for a $200 fine for the first offense ,  $300 for the 3rd and 4th offenses, and $400 for a 5th or more.  The driver’s license is automatically suspended if the penalty is not paid or appealed with 45 days.
