Scofield To Serve On Workforce Investment Board


Ivey Makes Two Appointments to Workforce Investment Board; Focus on Creating Jobs

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (February 14, 2011) - Lt. Governor Kay Ivey today announced the appointments of Senators Clay Scofield and Shadrack McGill to the Workforce Investment Board.

The focus of the Workforce Investment Board will be on economic development and providing jobs for the citizens of Alabama.

“During these economic times, we need sincere and dedicated individuals to lead our Boards in making correct and beneficial decisions.” Ivey stated, “Senators Scofield and McGill have both proven their devotion to their personal jobs, as well as their State Legislative positions, and have promised to carry on their devotion to the mission of this board.”

Senator Clay Scofield has been a Senator since 2010; serving District 9. He is a member of the Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce and the Arab Chamber of Commerce. He is also a former Chairman of the Blount County Young Farmers Committee.

“We need to band together to provide more job opportunities for Alabama’s citizens,” said Scofield. “I look forward to seeing all of the positive effects that take place with this board.”

Senator Shadrack McGill has also been a Senator since 2010; serving District 8. He owns Hydraulic Seals and Service in Woodville, AL. He is a member of The Rock Family Worship Center and the Clouds Cove Church of Christ.

“I know from personal experience how challenging it can be to start your own business; especially during tough economic times. I look forward to putting the knowledge I’ve acquired over the years into practice to help Alabama citizens obtain jobs.”
